Together with Amazon Web Services and Torque IT, we have created a FREE webinar series called “WTF: What’s The Future” and we are so excited to share all the details!
A few weeks ago, a special message arrived in our inbox. The question was posed, would Mark Sham, founder and CEO of Suits & Sneakers, be willing to participate in a webinar hosted by Amazon Web Service (AWS) and Torque IT. Soon, all parties involved were on a Zoom call and as we were discussing the objectives and possibilities of the project, it morphed into something special and we’d like to share the details with you.
THIS IS MORE THAN JUST A WEBINAR SERIES!
You see, these two incredible companies gave us the opportunity to pitch an idea centred around value creation. We asked them to play the long game, and we suggested that together, we try add value to our audience first, and then ask for some of their attention after to share a message about their products and services (and only if we actually landed up adding value), and they bought in!
For the longest time, our philosophy on marketing has been that it is no longer about what a company says, but rather what it does. Now more than ever, people have endless choice, so how you feel about a company determines if you will become a customer of theirs or not.
In our opinion, the best way to gain new customers is to see what problems you can solve for them before you try sell to them. Gary Vaynerchuck talks about the concept of jab, jab, jab, and then right hook. For us, that translates into give value, give value, give value, and then ask for some attention to showcase how your product/service could solve a problem.
Yes, this is a much longer route to making a sale. But it is also the most sustainable way to market your business. These days, people have finely tuned “bullshit meters” and they can spot a sneaky angle from a mile off.
With this in mind, most companies are tone deaf when it comes to their marketing (especially right now) and they don’t understand that people no longer care for a well-crafted marketing/advertising message if it’s disconnected from their actions.
THAT’S WHY THIS WEBINAR SERIES IS SO SPECIAL!
Thanks to COVID-19, economies around the world have been turned upside down and we collectively wanted to do something to help businesses and its people navigate these uncertain times.
In response, Amazon Web Services and Torque IT have created a five-part webinar series (one episode each week) and will be gathering five influential speakers to focus on a different theme each episode.
Best of all, attendance is FREE and anyone can participate in the series no matter where you are in the world. If your time zone doesn’t line up to South Africa, we will send you a link to the recording after each episode and you can watch at a time that suits you!
We have tried to focus on business content that will help people during this crazy time and content that will be entertaining to watch because of engaging speakers. We will be covering themes like:
- Understanding the new world we live in thanks to COVID
- How to gain the right mindset to thrive in a future that’s uncertain
- How to build teams in unusual times
- What the digital disruption means to your business
- How to leverage off technology and the cloud
- How to hack the system of value creation
- Marketing strategies that work in 2020
Also, our speakers will present their content from a professional studio where possible. We know it’s hard for people to sit in front of their small screens and watch a presentation so we’re trying to up the quality of production in a significant way.
Ultimately, Amazon Web Services and Torque IT are trying to give as much value as they can to people on the other end. Our hope is that this webinar series helps shift people’s perspectives, and people become better versions of themselves both personally and professionally. And if this does happen, then all we asking for is a bit of time and attention to share how the products and services of these two companies could benefit people on the other end.
We think this trade-off is more than fair. We are all in the business of sales and marketing. Our hope is to raise the bar and market/sell in an elegant way.
DETAILS FOR THE FIFTH (FINAL) EPISODE:
Our fifth guest is Mark Sham, and the title of this webinar is “Jab, Jab, Jab, RIGHT HOOK”.
The world of marketing has been changing for quite some time, but you wouldn’t say so based on the strategies of most businesses out there.
In fact, most of these companies don’t make money because of their marketing, but rather in spite of their marketing. And now with COVID in play, customers are looking for value more than ever.
Join Mark Sham as he talks about the future of marketing, and how companies have to learn to give value before they try make a sale.
