At Suits & Sneakers, we are driven by the power of active citizenship—the belief that we can create the change we wish to see in our beautiful country. This year, we are proud to announce our latest community project: building a classroom for LIV Lanseria, an orphanage and school in Gauteng dedicated to creating healthy families, empowered communities, and future leaders for South Africa.
Why LIV Lanseria?
After months of planning and a collective vote by our members, we chose to support LIV Lanseria. This life-giving village provides a nurturing environment for orphaned and vulnerable children, setting the foundation for a brighter future. When we asked how we could help sustainably, their answer was clear: they need a new classroom.
Our Plan
Through numerous site visits, we have identified the perfect location and design for the classroom. Our partners at xPod have meticulously planned a 100 square meter structure that can be divided into two smaller classrooms as needed. This flexible design will help LIV Lanseria accommodate more students and enhance their learning experience.
The total projected cost for this project is around R1.8 million. This includes construction and furnishing the classroom to ensure it is fully functional from day one. Importantly, every company involved in this campaign is donating their time and expertise, ensuring that 100% of the funds raised go directly to building the classroom. Given this is our first fundraising project, we’ve allowed some breathing room for unexpected costs.
The Best Part Is… We will document the entire journey on camera—from breaking ground to the final touches—so that we can share the story of LIV Lanseria and inspire even more people to get involved. Every rand raised above our target will go directly to supporting LIV Lanseria’s ongoing mission.
