If you’re reading this, you have most likely registered to attend one or more of our “WTF: What’s The Future” webinar series episodes. Thank you. Now this is what you need to know!

One of my favourite speakers, Simon Sinek, is well known for saying that people don’t buy what you do, they buy WHY you do it. I couldn’t agree with him more, so I wanted to write this short article and share some important details about this webinar series so that you understand the heart and the soul of this project.

GOOD MARKETING FOCUSES ON THE BUYER!

First, it’s important to know that this webinar series was created by Amazon Web Services and Torque IT. Suits & Sneakers is helping top bring the series to life. We got involved in this project because we wanted to show people that marketing has changed, and we believe there’s a better way of doing things than shouting at your audience.

For the longest time, our marketing philosophy has been that it is no longer about what a company says, but rather what it does. Now more than ever, people have endless choice, so how you feel about a company determines if you will become a customer of theirs or not.

In our opinion, the best way to gain new customers is to see what problems you can solve for them before you try sell to them. Gary Vaynerchuck talks about the concept of jab, jab, jab, and then right hook. For us, that translates into give value, give value,  give value, and then ask for some attention to showcase how your product/service could solve a problem.

Yes, this is a much longer route to making a sale. But it is also the most sustainable way to market your business. These days, people have finely tuned “bullshit meters” and they can spot a sneaky angle from a mile off.

Despite this, it still amazes me how many companies are tone deaf when it comes to their marketing (especially right now) and they don’t understand that people no longer care for a well-crafted marketing/advertising message if it’s disconnected from their actions.

OUR PRIORITY IS ALL ABOUT VALUE CREATION!

Thanks to COVID-19, economies around the world have been turned upside down and we collectively wanted to do something to help businesses and its people navigate these uncertain times.

In response, Amazon Web Services and Torque IT have created a five-part webinar series (one episode each week) and will be gathering five influential speakers to focus on a different theme each episode.

Ultimately, Amazon Web Services and Torque IT are trying to give as much value as they can to people on the other end. Our hope is that this webinar series helps shift people’s perspectives, and people become better versions of themselves both personally and professionally. And if this does happen, then all we asking for is a bit of time and attention to share how the products and services of these two companies could benefit people on the other end.

We think this trade-off is more than fair. We are all in the business of sales and marketing. Our hope is to raise the bar and market/sell in an elegant way.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS SERIES!

We have tried to focus on business content that will help people during this crazy time and content that will be entertaining to watch because of engaging speakers. We will be covering themes like:

  • Understanding the new world we live in thanks to COVID
  • How to gain the right mindset to thrive in a future that’s uncertain
  • How to build teams in unusual times
  • What the digital disruption means to your business
  • How to leverage off technology and the cloud
  • How to hack the system of value creation
  • Marketing strategies that work in 2020

Also, our speakers will present their content from a professional studio where possible. We know it’s hard for people to sit in front of their small screens and watch a presentation so we’re trying to up the quality of production in a significant way.

WE HOPE THIS RESONATES WITH YOU!

Thank you for agreeing to be part of this series, and thank you for giving us some of your time. We really do hope you enjoy each and every episode.
